Roy Bowen

Rev. Roy T. Bowen, 82, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, Dec. 13, 2013 at his residence. Rev. Bowen was a longtime resident of the Chattanooga and north Georgia areas and served in the U.S. Marine Corp. from 1952-1955. He was founder and president of Diamond Pest Control Company from June 1967 until April 1993. In 1974, he was founder and Pastor of the Fellowship Church of God on Clio Avenue, Chattanooga, a position he held until his death. Rev. Bowen was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Johnnie Bowen; son, Randall Bowen, East Ridge, Tenn.; and daughter, Lola Gail Bowen, of Rossville; sister, Alma Jean Morgan, Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin; three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday Dec. 16, at 12:30 p.m. at the Fellowship Church of God, 3426 Clio Avenue, Chattanooga, with Rev. James Barker and Randall Bowen officiating. Burial will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends today from 1-6 p.m. at the church and Monday from 11:30 a.m. until the service hour. Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
