Evelyn Stephens

Evelyn Linder Stephens, 84 of Chattanooga, died peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013 surrounded by her family. Survivors include daughter, Janet and partner Vicki Bond; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Babs, son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Leslie; niece, Anita Robinson and her husband David; four grandchildren, Holley, Miles, Leah and Austin. Evelyn is also survived by her sister Betty Shuster and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Grady Lee Stephens; her father and mother, Sam and Myrtle Linder; four brothers and three sisters.A native of Chattanooga, she obtained her associates degree from Edmondson School of Business and worked at TVA for many years. She was previously a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and is currently a member of Christ United Methodist Church.She was the #1 Big Orange fan and even met Peyton Manning!Evelyn knew no strangers and was loved by all who knew her. Her sense of humor, sharp wit and entertaining skill were second to none.
