Mark McNiff

Mark Stanton McNiff, 45, of Raleigh, died unexpectedly at home on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013.The son of Miles McNiff and his wife, Jeanne, Mark grew up in Chattanooga at The McCallie School ('85).He earned a B.A. in English from the University of Vermont ('89). Mark held positions at Harvard University, North Carolina State University, Affiliated Computer Systems and most recently Headway Corporation in Raleigh.Mark was a beloved father, brother, son and friend. He was an accomplished bluegrass musician, antique and art collector, and avid traveler, both domestically and abroad. Marks hobbies included spelunking, reading, artifact hunting, and cooking exotic foreign recipes for his friends.Survivors include his 13-year old daughter, Paden McNiff, of Mill Valley, Calif. He is also survived by his father, Miles F. McNiff III, of Chattanooga; and his brother, Miles F. McNiff IV, of Albuquerque, as well as his former wife, (Padens mother), Michelle Godard Terrell, of Mill Valley.Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanne Stanton, and his grandparents.
