Jeff Marquis

Jeffery Armour Marquis, 53, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, in Kissimmee, Fla., in the arms of his loving wife after a short but valiant battle with cancer.Jeff was born in Kingsport, Tenn., and lived for a brief period of time in Sewanee, Tenn., and New Johnsonville, Tenn. He was a 1977 graduate of Oakland High School in Murfreesboro, Tenn., where he was class president his senior year. He attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville for two years before transferring to the University of Florida in Gainesville where he obtained his bachelors degree. Jeff was a happy, fun loving, young man and those who knew him will indeed miss him greatly. He was devoted to his family and friends. Jeff was a member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church in Murfreesboro, Tenn., and St. Martins Episcopal Church in Chattanooga.Jeff is survived by his wife, Carol; and three sons, Dustin (Alexis), Skylar and Cody in Kissimmee, Fla. He is also survived by his parents, Rev. James and Emmy Marquis, now residing in Memphis, Tenn.; his brother, Jim (Cathy) Marquis, of Denver, Colo.; and sister, Kay Marquis (Keith) Anderson, of Memphis; three grandchildren, Grayson, Lucas and Sky Marie, of Kissimmee, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews in Tennessee and Florida.Services are to be announced at a later date.Please share your thoughts and memories at www.chattanoogaeastbrainerdchapel.com.Arrangements are announced by Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory & Florist, East Brainerd Chapel, 8216 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
