Francis Drew

Francis Jonathan Drew, 90, of Chattanooga, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 29, 2013.A son given by the Lord to the late Fred and Georgianna Drew, was born in Barton, Vt., on Dec. 30, 1922. He was married to his late wife, Betty, and they lived together in Chattanooga.Frank joined the U.S. Army in 1940 and served for 21 years. He fought in the Pacific during WWII and served under General MacArthur in the occupation of Japan. He also fought in the Korean War. Frank loved to travel, and he took many trips with his wife around the world in his lifetime. He also had a passion for gardening and enjoyed spending time in his yard in Tennessee.Church was a big focus of his life and he served faithfully; displaying the Christian graces which have so richly blessed the memories of those around him.Frank is survived by his five children, Brian, Candace, Jon, Kirk and Guy. He is also survived by eight grandchildren. His family is scattered from coast to coast across the United States.The service will be held under the witnesses of God and his loved ones at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, July 5, 2013.He will be laid to rest in Chattanooga National Military Cemetery with his late wife.There will be no visitation at the funeral home.Please share your memories at ChattanoogaValleyViewChapel.com.Arrangements are by the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
