MARIETTA Sandra Bishop Holton, 69, died Thursday, June 6, 2013.A native of South Pittsburg, Tenn., Mrs. Holton had lived in Marietta for 46 years. She held a masters degree in education from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and a masters degree in education from Georgia State University. She was retired from the Cobb County Board of Education, having taught at Blackwell , Powers Ferry, and Big Shanty Elementary Schools. She was a member of the Professional Association of Georgia Educators, the Retired Educators Association, and Mount Paren North Church of God.Mrs. Holton is survived by her husband, Melvin Clark Holton, of Marietta; son and daughter-in-law, Donald Eugene and Sharon Lynn Holton, of Alpharetta; brother and sister-in-law, George Blaine and Sally Bishop, of Knoxville; sister, Carole Bishop McNabb, of Kimball, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews.Flowers are being accepted or in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of the donor(tm)s choice.Online condolences may be expressed at www.mariettafuneralhome.org.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Mount Paren North Church of God with Dr. Mark Walker and Pastor Robert Plowman officiating.Burial services will be held at 2 p.m. CDT at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, Tenn.The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. today at Marietta Funeral Home, 915 Piedmont Road, Marietta, GA 30066, 770-422-123
