William Duran

CHICKAMAUGA William C. Duran, 93, passed away Friday, June 21, 2013 in a local hospital.He was a World War II Veteran that had served in the European Theatre, a member of the First Baptist Church of Chickamauga and he was a retired truck driver with Consolidated Freight Lines.He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Al Garcia and grandson, Stephen Runyan.Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Mary D. Duran; children, Ron Duran, Steve Runyan, Gene Runyan, Susan McBryar, Terri Jewell and Debbie Baker; sister, Vickie Hernandez; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.Condolences may be sent to www.lane-southcrestchapel.comFuneral services will be held on Tuesday, June 25, at 12:30 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.The family will receive friends on Monday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the funeral home.Arrangements by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory located at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
