Jan Vowell

Margaret Janice "Jan" Vowell, 72, of Chattanooga, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2013.Jan was born in Birmingham, Ala. She worked, until retiring, with Office of Hearings and Appeals.She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Mary McDowell; her sister, Mary Patricia Hazelrig.Jan is survived by her husband Thomas W. Vowell Sr.; her sons, Thomas W. (Jenny) Vowell Jr. and Michael Scott Vowell; grandson, Peyton Riley Vowell; her brother, Harry McDowell Jr.; sister, Carole Posey; and many nieces, nephew and friends.The family will receive friends from 2-6 p.m. today, and from noon Monday, May 6, 2013, until the time of service at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel.Jans funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2013, in the funeral home chapel with Rev.
