Edna Richie

Edna Basham Richie, 89 of Hixson, formerly of Whitwell, passed away Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at her home surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leonard Layne; son, Dennis Russell Layne; parents, Dewitt and Maude Basham; brothers, Robert Basham, John Harley Basham, Edward Basham; sister, Nancy Bryant. Mrs. Richie was a member of Whitwell Church of God. Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Howard Leon Richie, of Hixson; three daughters, Sharon (Brownie) Turner, Vernona (Benny) Hicks, Debbie (Stan) Brown; two stepchildren, Ernestine (Lawrence) McBryar, Ronnie (Sherry) Richie; two sisters, Lois Stone, Mildred Kell; brother, Danny Basham; four grandchildren, Misty Floyd, Ben Hicks, Tarrah (Eric) Davis, Dustin Brown; five great-grandchildren, Morgan Floyd, Maclain Floyd, Carlee Davis, Wyatt Davis and Yasmin Brown; several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 1-8 p.m. today, Nov. 2. Funeral service 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, at Cumberland Mountain Church of God with Rev. Jerry Basham officiating. Interment at Mt.
