Charles Middlebrooks

Charles Middlebrooks, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, in an Atlanta hospital.He was a 1970 graduate of Howard High School. He was a chef at the Ritz Carlton.Mr. Middlebrooks was preceded in death by his parents, Foster and Estell Middlebrooks; wife, Mary Jane Middlebrooks; sister, Annie Bell Davis; brothers, John Henry Middlebrooks, and Foster Middlebrooks Jr. Survivors include son, Kelvin D. Middlebrooks; two grandchildren; brother, Eldridge Middlebrooks, all of Chattanooga; and two sisters, Louise C. Tuggle, of Chattanooga, and Thelma Horton, of New York City; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.The body will lie-in-state today after 1 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.Funeral services will be Friday at noon in the chapel with Pastor Reuben Taylor officiating.Burial: Highland Memorial Gardens.
