Evelyn Lynch

Evelyn D. Lynch, 91, of Hixson, passed away Saturday Sept. 28, 2013. She was born Feb. 19, 1922 in Summerlee, W. Va., to the late Earl C. and Margarette Elizabeth Duncan.Mrs. Lynch was a graduate of Marshall College and was a former teacher and homemaker. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the OWLS Bible Study Group, and the Forget-Me-Nots Senior Group. Other involvements were the Cloverdale Neighborhood Association; the United Daughters of the Confederacy where she served as Honorary Tennessee President; Submarine Veterans of WWII; and associate member of the USS VI Haddo Base.She married her late husband, Howard L. Lynch on July 10, 1947 in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.Survivors include her sons, Steven (Linda) Howard Lynch, of Belle Haven, Va., Timothy (Vicky) Earl Lynch, of Sanford, Fla.; daughters, Susan (John) Maddux, of Spring City, Tenn., Margarette "Peggy" Eagle, of Chattanooga; brother-in-law, Harold (Virginia) Lynch, of White Sulphur Springs, W. Va.; 9 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 2, at 2:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Chris Hansen officiating.
