Eunice Taylor

Eunice Kenney Taylor, 96, of Chattanooga, widow of the late Robert A. Taylor, died peacefully on Dec. 27, 2013 in Houston, Texas. She belonged to the Central Church of Christ in Chattanooga until 1990 and to the Sugar Grove Church of Christ in Houston until her death. Eunice is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Taylor Sumners; grandsons, Robert Sumners, Jonathan Sumners and Scott Young; and great-grandson, Aiden Young. She is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University and taught mathematics at Red Bank High School from 1954 until she retired in 1979. She was passionate about student achievement in math and science and funded the West Teaching Dome at the George Observatory of the Houston Museum of Natural Science. There will be a graveside service at Chattanooga Memorial Park at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Museums "Save Our Scope" fund (www.hmns.org) or to the Sugar Grove Church of Christ (www.sugargrove.org).
