Sylvester Caslin Jr.

Sylvester Caslin Jr. passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014. God released him from pain and suffering to share in his glorious kingdom. Sylvester was born on Aug. 12, 1940 in Barnesville, Ga. He professed his faith in God at an early age and united with New Enon Baptist Church. He was the oldest child of eight children. Sylvester was employed by Wheland Foundry where he retired after 30 years of service. He attended Howard High School. He was loved by everyone. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester Caslin, Sr. and Agnes Battle Caslin; his brothers, Johnny Caslin and Benny Caslin and others. Sylvester leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Edna Caslin; two daughters, Kimberly Caslin Armstrong and Jasmyne (Darrell) Caslin; four sons, Sylvester Caslin III, Kedrick (Rose) Caslin, Darryl (Celeste) Caslin and Craig Caslin; Charles (Geraldine) Caslin, Anthony (Louise) Caslin, Bernice (Roger) McNabb, Betty (Donnie) Galloway and Mary (Perry) Armour; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2014, at Advantage Chapel with Rev. Randy Petersen officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. The body will lie-in-state from noon until 7 p.m. today, May 4, 2014, in the chapel.
