FORT OGLETHORPE Gladys Gertrude Holcomb Boatwright Mullens, 86, passed away Friday, Oct. 7, 2011. A resident of the Fort Oglethorpe area for the past 36 years, she had formerly lived in California.She was a former employee of EPD Electronic Production Development for six years and was a member of Light House of the Word Church of God. She is preceded in death by first husband, Johnny B. Boatwright; last husband, Joseph Woodson Mullens; parents, Fred and Hester Roberts Holcomb; two daughters, Linda Shiffert Berkley and Nancy White Spittler; son, Johnny Lee Boatwright; grandson, Ricky Wilson Jr.; three sisters and five brothers.She is survived by three children, Jim Boatwright, of Murfreesboro, Patricia Rinke of Hays, Kan. and Wanda (John) Curtin, of Ringgold; 17 Grandchildren; 36 Great-grandchildren; many special nieces, nephews and two special friends, Louise Carroll and Theresa Gordon.Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Mike Lowery officiating.Interment followed at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.The family would like to say a special thanks to the wonderful staff at NHC of Rossville and Chattanooga Hospice.
