, Jr.Zollie E. Kidwell, Jr., of Hixson, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2013. He was 85 years old.Zollie was raised in Crossville, Tenn. in the old Homesteads, and was a longtime resident of the Hixson area. He served our country in the National Guard before entering the U. S. Navy for two years. Zollie was employed with Oak Ridge Nuclear Plant, Atlas Chemical Company, TNT Plant in Desoto and was a retired warehouse supervisor. He was of the Church of Christ faith. Zollie loved the outdoors, camping and boating and was a member of the Chattanooga Choo Choo Camping Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, Zollie E. Kidwell, Sr. and Hedy Kidwell Smith; siblings, Lloyd G. Kidwell, Joanna Walker and Janice Smith; niece, Linda Kidwell.Zollie is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sharon Mitchell Kidwell; children, Laura Michelle Kidwell Scott and spouse Lesley Moore and Michael Earl Kidwell and spouse Deanna; three grandchildren, Shannon, Nicole and Mikey Kidwell; brother, Murray Kidwell and spouse Evangeline; sister-in-law, Edna Kidwell; nephew, Mark Kidwell and niece, Joni Funkhouser; great nephew and great niece, Jason and Amanda Kidwell. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, and Noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, at the North Chapel.Services for Zollie will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the North Chapel. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
