Mildred Brown Boyd Crouch, 94, died at home on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, of natural causes. She was born on Oct. 1, 1919, in Marion County, Tenn., to William Reese and Bessie Brown Boyd. She was married to Charles E. Crouch for more than 65 years, supporting him in his career as a minister in the churches of Christ and raising two children, Barbara and Dave. She was an experienced Bible class teacher, an avid bird-watcher, and a dedicated contributor to Knitwitters, a group at Hillsboro Church of Christ that knits hats for newborns at Nashville General Hospital as well as children in Nashvilles inner city, Afghanistan and Ukraine. Mildred is survived by her two children, Barbara (Norman) Fox and Dave (Tammy) Crouch; six grandchildren, Tiffany and Ted Fox, of Nashville, Tara Fox, of Cleveland, Ohio, and Charlie, Jack, and Johnny Crouch, of Franklin, Tenn.; siblings Clyde Boyd, of Jasper, Tenn.; Virginia Lyons, of Tampa, Fla., Doris Hardaway of Mount Juliet, Tenn., Faye Lofty, of South Pittsburg, Tenn., and Vernon Boyd, of Detroit, Mich.; and a number of nieces, nephews and dear friends. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. today, Dec. 6, 2013, at Hillsboro Church of Christ, Nashville, and on from noon-2 p.m. Saturday, Dec, 7, 2013, at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper, Tenn. Funeral services will be conducted from the Rogers Funeral Home at 2 p.m. CST on Saturday. Interment will follow at Cumberland View Cemetery in Kimball, Tenn.
