Marguerite Carter

Marguerite Carter passed away on Friday, Dec. 13, 2013. She was born April 5, 1922 in Greeneville, Tenn., but was a long time resident of Chattanooga. She will be remembered as a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She was a woman of strength, tenderness, and love. She was a member of Brainerd United Methodist Church. She is survived by John C. (J.C.) Carter, the love of her life and devoted husband of 73 years. Also survived by a daughter, Joyce Burroughs; granddaughter, Jan Honey Quinn (Bart); three great granddaughters, Emily Thomsen (Erik), Margaret Quinn, Sarah Quinn; and one great-great-granddaughter, Quinn Thomsen. Funeral services will be held at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, with Rev. Dennis Flaugher, officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour before the service. The entombment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visit to share words of comfort to the family and view the memorial tribute.
