James Goodson,

James Goodson KNOXVILLE James Franklin "Jeff" Goodson, 71 , passed away peacefully Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, with family and friends at his bedside. He was a member of St. Johns Cathedral. Jeff was born in Knoxville, served in the Navy, and was the CEO and founder of Goodson Bros. Coffee Co. Inc. His love of golf led him to Cherokee Country Club, The Honors course and Tennessee National golf club, where he won many a club championship. Jeff was an avid citizen and philanthropist, supporting his community and many local charities. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary "Missy" Wyatt Goodson; brother, Moffitt Goodson; and his father, Floyd P. Goodson Jr. Jeff is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Floyd Peck Goodson II and Tracy Goodson; and his beloved pugs, Presley and Priscilla; mother, Sarah Elizabeth Goodson; nephews, Ross Goodson, Stephen Goodson; nieces, Elizabeth Goodson, Aelise Reece and husband, Stephen; great-nephews, Warren Reece and James Franklin Goodson Reece; and Kelly Hall and the entire Goodson Bros. family. A celebration of Jeffs life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Johns Cathedral with The Very Rev. John C. Ross, Dean and the Rev. Chris Hackett, Canon officiating. Interment Private. Memorials may be made to: Boys and Girls Club of the Tennessee Valley, John D Lee Administrative Building, 220 Carrick Street Ste 318, Knoxville, TN 37921, Humane Society of Tennessee Valley, 6717 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919 and also St. Johns Cathedral.
