Mildred Puckett Eaves, 86 years old, (Mrs. George G. Eaves) of Signal Mountain, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2013.She was the second daughter of Walter W. Puckett and Thelma W. Puckett, of St. Elmo, she was a graduate of the Chattanooga High School. She also attended Wileys School of Business. She was a member and past president of the Kiwanis Auxiliary and past vice president of the Chattanooga, Opera Association and a current member of the AARP. Before getting married, she was personnel director at the DUPONT Construction Division, in Chattanooga.Later, after getting married, while raising a family, she served as advertising director for Eaves Formal Wear in Chattanooga. She was married to George G Eaves Sr., whom she wed in 1951 in Patten Chapel, in Chattanooga and was co-owner of Eaves Formal Wear and the Chattanooga Costume Co.A faithful and caring person, She was the mother of two sons, George G. Eaves Jr. (Atlanta) a registered Architect, and Baxter S. Eaves (LaGrange, Ky.,) a pilot who flies internationally for UPS.She is survived by her two sons, a niece and three grandchildren. She was gifted with a special audio memory and she remembered long sections of the Bible from hearing and reading them in her life time.Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, and Thursday morning, July 25, 2013, from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.Graveside services will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2013. She will be buried with her husband of 60 plus years, who was a veteran of WWII, who served as Chief Radio Officer in the US Merchant Marines in the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters of the War, who passed away on Oct. 14, 2010.Memorial donations may be made to Bethel Bible Village, 3001 Hamill Road, Hixson, TN 37343, in remembrance of Mildred P.
