Lester McClureSPRING CITY Lester C. McClure, 85, died Thurday, May 2, 2013 at his home.A lifetime resident of Spring City, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Frances Barger McClure. Lester was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and was stationed in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a member of the Rhea Springs Lodge #310 F&AM and also a member of the Bogel's Chapel Church.Lester was preceded in death by his son, Larry D. McClure, sister, Carrie Porter Davis and brothers, Jerry, Maynard and Ray McClure.Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Maxine Simpson McClure, of Spring City; daughters, Carole (Boyd) Wright and Sharon McClure Brown, both of Spring City; daughter-in-law, Brenda McClure, of Scottsboro, Ala.; sister-in-law, Ernestine Simpson, of Spring City; sisters, Helen Matthews, Doris Morrison, Naomi Goins and Rose Lee Arnold, all of Dayton and Vickie Napier, of Knoxville; grandchildren, Brent (Darlene) Wright, Michael Wright, Leslie Sweeden, David Brown Jr. and Jason (Margaret) McClure; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and special friends, Jim, Eddie Ruth and Pat Galloway.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home.Interment with military honors will follow in Spring City Memorial GardensThe family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
