LaFAYETTE Roger Lane Carlton, 59, passed away on Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer.Roger had a love for his Lord and Savior, his family and country. Was a member of the Life Gate Church in LaFayette. Roger was the founding member of the band "Bounty Hunter" where many cherished lifelong friendships were developed a close friendly relationship with many. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and camping.Preceded in death by parents, Ovid Barker and Bonnie Gertrude Carlton.Survived by loving wife, Kelly Carlton, of LaFayette; sons, Cole Bowman, Zane (Alyssa) Carlton, Aaron (Kaylie) Carlton and Eli Carlton; special nephew, Garrett Carlton, and bonus son Corey Rose, all of LaFayette; daughters, Penny Carlton and Pattie Carlton; grandchildren, Forrest, Sarah and Nikki, all of Texas; sisters, Pat (Dean) Lowrance, of Lookout Mountain, and Karen Webb, of LaFayette; brothers, David (Edna) Carlton, of Rock Spring and Johnny Carlton, of Marietta; pet friend, Sheba; several nieces, nephews, cousins and loyal friends also survive.A celebration of Rogers life will be from the Life Gate Church, 204 N. Main St., LaFayette, GA 30728, at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013. Service by Pastor Delbert Young and Pastor Wayne Chasteen.In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Fuller Cancer Center in Ringgold or to Life Gate Church in LaFayette as well as to Hearth Hospice.The arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
