Jr.Ervin Edward Denkins Jr, 84, formerly of Indianapolis Ind., passed away Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, at his residence in Gulfport, Miss.He was a United States Army Veteran, retired from Chrysler with 21 years of service and a faithful member of the Church of Christ for over 40 years with five years as the minister of Bisbee Church of Christ.Mr. Denkins was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Leona Denkins Sr.; brother, Charles Denkins; sister, Esther Wilson; and grandson, Adrian Kincy.Survivors include his devoted wife of 39 years, Viola Denkins; sons, Ervin (Debbie) Denkins III, of Louisville, Ky., Henry (Michele) Maye Jr., of Indianapolis, Ind.; daughters, Dorothy Denkins, Sharon (Ronald) Edd, both of Tulsa, Okla., Barbara Easter, of Gulfport, Miss., Sharon Jordan, of Indianapolis, Ind. and Anita (John Sr.) Taylor, of Chattanooga; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.The body will lie in state at 1 p.m. today at Taylor Funeral Home.The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel with Ervin E. Denkins III as the eulogist.Burial: Chattanooga National Cemetery.
