BEN-JAM is an up and coming Southern Gospel band from Rockwood, TN. They recently joined the Tennessee Country and Gospel Music Association (TCGMA), a state chapter of the North American Country Music Association, Intl. (NACMAI). On December 3, 2011 they were the proud recipients of multiple awards. As a band they were named “Most Promising Traditional Gospel Band of the Year” and received “CD of the Year” and “Video of the Year” recognition. They will be moving on to national competition with the NACMAI in Pigeon Forge, TN in March 2012 to represent the TCGMA. In addition to these band awards, the founder of BEN-JAM, Benjamin Blankenship was named “Songwriter of the Year” for two songwriting categories and will be completing as a songwriter in the upcoming national competition. Band member Jonelle Blankenship, vocalist and pianist, was recognized as the “Traditional Gospel Horizon Vocalist of the Year.” The band’s newest member, Kristie Quinn, a multi-award winning songwriter and instrumentalist, was recognized by the Georgia Country and Gospel Music Association (GCGMA), another state chapter of the NACMAI, as the “Traditional Gospel Instrumentalist of the Year” for the 3rd consecutive year and “Songwriter of the Year” for the 2nd consecutive year. Previously she was named the “2010 Most Promising Traditional Gospel Instrumentalist of the Year” and the “2011 Traditional Gospel Instrumentalist of the Year” by the NACMAI. She will go on to represent the GCGMA during the upcoming NACMAI competition as a traditional gospel instrumentalist. BEN-JAM is a fast rising multi-award winning Southern Gospel band with a sound that reaches beyond traditional gospel.
