5- You named many wonderful scribes. Frank Deford and Grantland Rice belong there somewhere and for current topics everyday Bill Simmons-Grantland is terrific.

Lefty has somehow sucked all the oxygen out of the open. If he doesn't win or at least contend it will be another snooze fest for the tour.(hurry back Eldrick). If he does win though he cruises past about 10 guys into top 10 all time. For sure the 2nd best player of his generation which isn't bad. Never a Varden trophy money title or world number 1, but man 45 plus wins and career grand slam,6 majors hope he pulls it off.

MT, I'd say it's big for him first US win and all. Kinda like a college degree, if you don't have one it's meaningless and if you do you don't give it back. Mocs' Robb really showed out too.

Golf wins the weekend for finally showing a pulse. Monty wins a major, Rory goes low on last day to win, Korda battles Wie (-20)is getting it done, Scott beats Bozo the clown in playoff. Bravos without leadership are circling the drain. James has done it all year and keeps doing it but the real key is Wade playing like a champ. Spurs are too deep though. I'll put a 'tall boy' on the spurs in 7. Racing..naaah.

A lifetime ban is justified and probably overdue for Sterling. Forcing him to sell or assuming control of his business is not. Transfer of ownership to his spouse is equitable for all and he's out of sight out of mind. Market value on the Clips is around 1.5 billion says Bill Simmons. That's great return on investment.

5- Golf clap-a-dap for the Furman alum that took it upon themselves to revive the mulla deficient golf team. For my money that's taking care of bidness, putting your own 'skins' in the game.

For the record people like Elk (borderline humorous), Dixie Chicks (spot on), Ted Nugent (derelict/dangerous) are more than welcome to their opinions in this free nation. And that's a GREAT thing! The selective Christians who stump on religious values only when it's convenient..way more offensive!!

Remember the Bible condemns ALL immorality, including the premarital kind most of us at one time or another had a robust appetite for, except Timmy Tebow, Lolo and maybe BYU students.

Jay- I recently saw where Kevin Durant wants to drop the 'Slim Reaper' moniker and the more docile 'KD' and now be know as 'The Servant'.

Is it ok to come up with your own nickname and what's a Rushmore of sporting tags look like?

I always liked 'Donny Baseball' and 'The Shark', 'Tiger' surely (don't all me Shirley) belongs. What say you?

5 Talking trash.. In the 96' western conf finals on the way to the Stanley Cup, Patrick Roy blasted Jeremy Roenick Saying " he couldn't hear what Jeremy says because my 2 Stanley Cup rings are plugging my ears". Roy ended up with 4 rings, Roenick 0.

That's Rushmore worthy.

I like what Baldwin said, Carter should tone it down.

As a kid growing up in Denver I cried my eyes out in 77'. The next four Mondays after SB loses didn't get any easier. As a fan of only one team you realize it rarely ever ends well. Makes the 97-98 years that much sweeter!

As far as legacy I think even if he had won PM wouldn't supplant Elway as the greatest Bronco to most Bronco fans. If in 30 yrs Payton makes it out for the pre game coin toss doubtful he sports the fur lined leather but Broadway Joe sure rocked it!

Best commercial..TEBOW!! Glad to see he somehow made it into a Super Bowl!
