Let's see...someone breaks into your house so you smile and invite them to stay...something doesn't sound right here. We're not talking about someone who is in the US legally, but illegally. They "broke in" so to speak. They knew it wasn't legal to do so, but did it anyway. How can anyone feel sorry for them?
If they want to be here, do it the right way and they'll be welcomed with open arms. Knock on my door and ask for something to drink and I'll give it to you; break in to do the same thing and there's now a problem.
