Oh Clay, I LOVE YOU. I know just what you're saying. I'm not homosexual, but so many of my dear friends are and want so very much to marry their long-time partners. I've lived through the agony of my mother, who apparently was lesbian trying to go straight and, in the process, made a living hell for her husband and us, her children. She quoted Bible all the time, and all of us suffered terribly. If only her times had been more enlightened, how different and happier all our lives could have been. Those who oppose such equality are exactly as you have portrayed them. Compassionate, accepting, understanding, loving Jesus would not have been among them. Bless you, Clay.

Thanks for a great card, and I wish a bright and wonderful Winter Solstice to you, Clay! That's the old Celtic holiday that makes this season mean something to me, my favorite day of the year, when the days begin to lengthen and give us more sunny hours again. I thank you for brightening every one of my days with your excellent cartoons -- so beautifully drawn, insightful, instructive, and pertinent. In these dark days in Florida under this governor who is called Voldemort by some of our columnists and Dick Snot by many of us (I prefer Gov. Bat Boy and the Legislature from Hell), your observations are rays of sunshine. I'm still sorry the St. Pete (now Tampa Bay) Times let you go, and I'm most grateful to still be able to enjoy your work via the Internet. All the best to you and yours every day!

Tu_quoque: "The state of Florida is such a target rich area that it is the only state with its own listing." Not everyone in Florida is ignorant, uneducated, or stupid. In 1964, only 25% of my graduating class was born in Florida. Today, 66% are transplants from elsewhere, including our Zombie Governor Bat Boy, who was elected by transplanted carpetbaggers like himself even though he is well known to be guilty of Medicare fraud and bought his office for $75 million of that stolen money. I personally was not born in Florida either, being 5th-gen Oklahoman and 9th-gen (at least) AL-GA-SC. I'm finding it increasingly difficult to be proud of the non-indigenous portion of my heritage, but at least none of us has ever been from Tennessee.

Excellent analogy, Clay! The St Pete Times -- now Tampa Bay Times -- ran another of your great 'toons the other day, the one where the middle class is a car being dismantled. Not that we have any shortage of TeaBaggers here, but many of us old-timers still bitterly regret having lost you to Tennessee. I notice that my favorite commenters have turned out also to be from FL. Sure you don't want to retire here to a hero's welcome?

I have feared women and LOVED MEN for all of my 66 years. TO YOU JERKS: You complain when our ovarian cysts are too painful for sex. You complain about our PMS. You complain about our menstrual cramps... and that "Romper Room" is closed one week of every four. You never want to take "no" for an answer when we say you're not someone we want to have sex with. Your worst nightmare is when your girlfriend tells you she's pregnant, but you don't want to take half the responsibility and you howl if we choose abortion (which I have done twice and would do again without regret), while from the other side of your mouth you brag to the guys about your virility. Then when we finally (!!!!) come to the end of our "Curse," you complain about our hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, and irregular periods. NOW you want to deny us the one thing that can alleviate ALL -- yes, ALL -- of these symptoms and can even reduce our periods to 4 times a year: contraceptives. Maybe the manufacturers should call them something else. Maybe we women should form something called The LLBB, "The Lysistrata/Lorena Bobbitt Brigade." LET'S BREED IT OUT! I refuse to have sex with any man who isn't nonviolent, sweet, compassionate, gentle, sympathetic, understanding, and supportive. I'm too old for it to matter in my reproduction, but I hope younger women will decide the same. However, there will always be rape by the aggressive, selfish ones, won't there? Here again, those contraceptives come in SO handy, and then all you have to worry about is STDs etc. -- easily cured in the USA with penicillin and/or lice-killer, and righteous anger.

I am not a FemiNazi. I am not even a feminist. But I agree with my grandmother, who would've been 110 yrs old this year. She said, "I LOVE MEN. It's JERKS I can't stand." Limbaugh is a first-class, AAA, blue-ribbon jerk whose remarks would have been unthinkably indecent 50 years ago. SHAME, SHAME, SHAME! And if you let him go uncensured, YOU are equally guilty. Conditions such as ovarian cysts and dysmenorrhea are not immoral, nor are they our fault. You men dishonor the very women who bore and nursed you!

Where are you a GIS analyst? We have a whole floor of them at Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Fish and Wildlife Research Institute in St Petersburg, from which I just retired. Always enjoy comments by you and Blackwater!

Blackwater, have you been on vacation? We need elucubration. Glad to hear your views again. It was a sad day when the St Pete Times decided they could do without Clay's 'toons and sent him to TN. In my opinion, none are better than he is.
