I don't know which fair "the fair" is. But, yes, I've taken my family to several fairs in TN and poor people shouldn't subsidize our trips to the fair. I'd gladly pay an extra dollar or two each time I go so that the state isn't forcing people who will never go to a fair to help pay for me to go. It seems like an insane program.
How is there "benefit for all" when, according to this editorial, all Tennesseans have to pay to subsidize trips to the fair by a small portion of Tennesseans and awards won by an even smaller percentage of Tennesseans? Why not let the people who want to support fairs pay for them and leave the other taxpayers out of it?
