I'm a southern liberal. I feel kinda sorry for jonses. It must be a hard life to live with so much hatred inside one's soul. Denying it is there and projecting it on others dose not mean it dose not exist. So far as me hating conservatives, well I don't. Hatred is a terrible thing to carry in one's soul. People like jonses and Maximus seem to get some kind of pleasure posting things that they think will keep me awake at night with anger. It doesn't and I sleep well. Do you guys really think your rants affect me? Dream on.
To those who believe the states should be in charge of disaster relief I'd like to remind them of the old saying that, "When a man is hip pockets deep in alligators it is difficult to remember that his original job was to drain the swamp." Most of New Jersey is paralyzed, parts of New York are in the same condition. There is the need for a large effort from outside both states. This is what Americans do. The stricken states cannot do the job, private corporations would be looking to make a profit and do all of the shortcuts they could. Remember the reaction of the country to the inept job done after Katrina. Some Americans believe they are completely self-sufficient but it just ain't so. "No man is an island."
What is wrong with the "conservatives" on this site? There are millions of AMERICANS suffering from the effects of the largest hurricane on record and all you mud-slingers can do is bitch about the president. Obviously none of you give a damn about anything but yourselves. Screw the whole lot of you.
Having grown up in a small town south of Chattanooga I am very encouraged at the number of posts giving the super-cons so much flack. The times they are a changin and those who resist will be lost in the wilderness. The real people who will be left behind are those who cling to the attitudes of the past. It does my heat good to see open minded people in my old stompin grounds. Thank you Chattanooga!
