On another TSSAA topic, congratulations to the 2 public schools that qualified for the supposedly division 1 class a/aa state soccer tourney. 1/4 of the field is non private even though Tennessee has a mythical public/private split. I wonder if some stat guy could come up with the number of private and public schools in state quarter finals for all sports in division 1 since the split. Specifically a/aa in all sports except football and 1a, 2a and 3a in Football. I know you will see a lot of CPA, CAK, Goodpasture Christian, David Lipscomb, Grace Christian and our on Boyd Buc. If you want a good example of how fair the playing field is; if Tyner or Polk County win and get to play CAK in the football playoffs count the number of coachs on both sides. Thank god for Alcoa and South Pitt. Football. Just forget about sports such as golf, tennis, track-- smaller classification schools don't have a chance.
