TDMan, my son plays for one of the "weak sisters" as you call it and I would NEVER expect any team to lay down so another team doesn't feel bad. I just expect that when SM has a huge lead then you should put in the scout team to give them the chance for some field time to hone their skills so they will be ready when the big dogs are gone. But oh, I forgot, they can just go "find" other less fortunate studs who can carry the rock and save them from any of the other schools in the tri-state area, so that they can get that Top Notch education from Signal and make them scholars in....what....say 9 months cause the Lord knows that was the only motive for this fiasco.

I keep seeing all this back and forth and what doesn't seem to be getting across to the SM folks is 1) we don't hate SM's team, 2) it is COACH PRICE,(quote, unquote, underline and bold italics),with his attitude and arrogance at EVERY SM game I have seen. He is the reason SM has the reputation it has. I don't care how much money the residents of SM have or DON'T have. That isn't the issue. Coach Price may be wonderful to all of you but if you were on the other side looking at him and his antics then you would feel the same way we do, I PROMISE YOU! Especially with the way you feel about what is being said against you! If that makes you mad then you should be on this side looking at YOU! We do not hate you or your money and are not jealous of your school. I would be proud, proud, proud for a school in my area to be state champions! But your coach makes it hard for us to like what your athletes work so very, very hard to accomplish.

Englishman, your arrogance shows as well! You say that other schools should have parents that reach into their pocket for their schools. Well, at the school my children attend there are multitudes of parents, including myself, that reach into our pockets to support our school. You say that these bashers, as you call them, hurt the students at SM, but you fail to realize that the students and student-athletes are very unfortunately the collateral damage in this fiasco directed by the administration at SM. They brought this on themselves, no one else did. It is a shame that the athletes have to suffer for sure, but they have no one to blame but the admin. All the SM supporters say that everyone is jealous and that is why people feel the way they do but the reason isn't jealousy, it is the way Coach Price conducts himself. I understand you think everyone there "loves" Price but do you know there are lots of people there that are NOT so loving of him. They are actually embarrassed by the way he acts on game night. I know that for a fact. I know if there were a different attitude with Price then there would not be this feeling of disgust with him. He is a great "instructor" of football because SM has wonderful athletes and I am very positive they have worked very, very hard all year but he is NOT a good role model at all! Most definitely not a role-model I would want for my kids. I know I am going to hear from the SM people to the contrary but it doesn't matter because he has proven himself otherwise.

It's like the burglar that's mad cause someone saw him and turned him in...it's STILL wrong. They didn't have to do that to CCS. They have beat them like that before without #3 so taking it out on a team that isn't as good is like beating a puppy. But, BOY didn't it make SM look good :)

mtndad....so what were Coach Price's tactics at the other games he has run up the score? Wasn't senior night then. Still doesn't justify doing that. I am so glad it's over too.

well sunnyday, I don't believe anyone has hatred for any boy on the SM team. They are an awesome team and are a force to be reckoned with. The only thing I have said was that Coach Price demoralizes other teams when he runs the score up. Like you said about grandparents, aunts and the like can go both ways. We feel the same about our boys as well. It doesn't feel so great to get beat that bad when we could just "get beat". I would never say anything bad about a player by name. I would not want that for my son. And the "Signal Mtn. will get theirs one day" comment was just what I have heard several times. I know a parent from SM that told me how embarrassing it is for him to keep scoring when the game is already won. You must realize that if that happened to your team you would feel the same way?
