The travel policies and spending of the City need to be questioned. Fact: Police department sends 12 officers for continued training. Result: 12 officers travel 400 mile for a training course and each and every single officer drives there police vehicle, what is the cost? Gas? Maintenance? Depreciation of the vehicle? The Police Dept is just over 25% of the City budget. What amount is wasted on excessive and useless spending?

I’m a proponent of law enforcement, but the city as a whole has ridiculous spending practices. The bleeding needs to stop and until we, as citizens, hold our elected leaders accountable it will continue. This is applicable to the highest level of federal government. Partisanship aside, there needs to be better transparency, accountability and oversight!

The knuckleheads in office do not understand the value of a dollar! It’s time they learned. No more career politicians. It’s a service, not a career.

Bilo is now a monopoly and this will hurt everyone of us in a very basic way, and disproportionately hurt the poorest among us. I can't believe that even the far right idiologues believe that this is a good thing. This part of the Country should still have memories of the "Company Store" and the cost of no competition. This is Geograpic Market Allocation and violate of Anti Trust laws.

This dosen't even make sense! Pubix, Super Walmart, Greenlife are three major competitiors with Bi-Lo. Not to mention places, like Family Dollar, Dollar General and Sav-a-lot. Apparently, Food Lion could not successfully compete with these companies and are forced to change there business model.

Did you even read the artcile?

@328k - Where does anyone blame the victims??? So, instead of blaming the shooters who actually pulled the trigger it's the building inspectors fault??? Talk about shifting blame. LOL

Golden said the tritium has been detected in groundwater, which is not used for drinking water or irrigation purposes, and no potable water wells are downstream of where the tritium was found.

Ummm? What about the lake? Wouldn't eat the fish!

What I can never understand is how anyone can justify the increaseing gas prices, when the oil companies report record breaking prfoits every quarter. Maybe the next president in term can place regulations similiar to Health Reform that dictate how much of a profit margin the company can make and each state must review and approve an increase in price!

Blockquote was arrested in connection with a series of allegations in 2009 and 2010. Detectives launched their investigation at the end of November

Yet it took until November until detectives launched their investigation? WOW! Poor child, so very sad.
