We have to be tolerant towards other races, cultures and religions. The world is becoming a smaller place, and we can only keep the peace by accepting and understanding one another. I am saddened by some of the negative views present in the comments. There are people who are still unwilling to accept people from other races and religions. http://www.starrausten.com

The synthetic drugs gives people, especially easily influenced youth, an easy gateway to the world of real drugs. They are easily attainable and their dangers are real. They should be taken off the shelves!

All states deserve to have the best attorney, not just one state. I wonder what is the selection criteria to choose candidates to be part of the judges nominating panel. I hope only the most suitable people are chosen. Simon - http://www.starrausten.com

In such cases, questioning the right of the judge to precede the case is a strategy that many attorneys use when trying to put the case in the favour of their clients. Whether this is really for the fair trial is questionable.

Personal guarantees should never have been made when such huge sums of money are being dealt with. When it comes to business, everything has to be in black and white, and if the congressman had sold the interest in the business without notifying the bank, then he was at fault as well.

The sad thing about this story is how the 5 year old step brother will grow up. Will he be traumatized by his accidental killing of his sister, or will he go down the path like his parents because of the poor example they made of themselves.

It is quite unfair that because of state cuts, so many people are suffering. I like the quote, “victims should not be victims of our system”. It is so true! They should really relook at how they manage the funds, because the courtrooms do need those funds to provide the best justice system that should be expected.

For the sake of both families, I hope that the case finds closure. Opening up of cold cases are not very common, but this one really begs the question of why DNA tests were not done to prove whether Higgenbottom was the child's father, and why the case was only opened up after so long.

What surprised me was the ease at which students had access to alcohol and weed in camp. This is also one of the reasons that such vice should be kept away from students. Using the influence alcohol and marijuana as reasons that she could not have consented to the act was unfair, because not everybody has the same tolerance levels to the substances.

Immigration will always remain one of the hotly debated topics in many countries, especially for Alabama, who has fought against illegal immigration for years. No matter which side wins, there will be staunch resistance from supporters, and I doubt the issue could just end with a judges decision.
