My ESPN bottom 5: (1) Lou Holtz (2) Mark May (3) Mark May (4) Lou Holtz (5) tie - Holtz/May

My new ESPN #1: Samantha Steele. Anybody else think she is better than Erin Andrews? (You can define 'better'.)

For entertainment purposes only, wonder what the over/under is for tonight's Mocs BB game. Not the total points, but (1) the reported attendence, and (2) the actual attendence. Remember to factor in the weather and 3 bowl games on TV.

I nominate Dan Fogelberg's 'Same Old Lang Syne'..."We drank a toast to innocence, we drank a toast to now..."

Jay, A new poster, "Muddog", tossed 2 good questions your way at 8:35 last night. Maybe you can get to them later today or Friday. Looking forward to seeing you Mon Oct 29 at the QB Club lunch meeting. Thanks.

Who other than me went to the UTC-Samford game this past Saturday? Official stats show attendence was 7,100. My estimate = 1,500; maybe 2,000. Very disappointing, but I guess that shows how many UT and bammer fans there are in this market. It was fall break weekend at UTC, so other than the band, very few students were there. The Vols play at noon this Saturday, UGa-Fla at 3:30, and bammer-Miss State at 8:30. I hope Run JMC is right about a 5-digit attendence against Ga Southern, but the competition for the entertainment dollar is tough on a football Saturday. Go Blue, Be Gold...Go Mocs! Also, I predicted UA 56, UT 28. I guess I lost on a tie-breaker (?)

I, like S. Hargis, wish for a replay of 1982. Unfortunately, I think a replay of 1986 is more likely...bammer 56, Vols-n-tears 28.

Regarding the best managers in MLB history, I have to rule out any Yankees manager. The Yankees have always had the resources to get the best players, going back to the 1920s and prior to MLBs institution of a draft. With his run of consecutive division titles, Cox has to be there. (And I am a Phillies fan.) Please allow me to throw out Dick Williams (Boston, Oakland, San Diego, etc.). And Williams was thrown out of a lot of games like Cox and Earl Weaver. It is after noon, so let's drink on it.

Mr 5at10, with all due respect, Tony WHITE, father of current Moc RonRico White, is from Charlotte & played at UT in the 1980s. You must be referring to Tony HARRIS from Memphis that played in the 1990s. Of course, beloved Vol Dane Bradshaw is from the Memphis area, but was not highly recruited. While "From the RonRico White Studio" has a nice ring to it for the 5 at 10 home base, I suppose it would not be appropriate since he is not 21 or a pro yet (?)

Mr. 5at10er, thank you for sending Weeds [my HS classmate] to the ATL this past Saturday. That is why UT won; he was not there to jinx the Large Fruit. So please, send him elsewhere on Saturdays in the fall. I look forward to Mark's Q&A session at today's QB Club meeting (and your return to the QB Club podium).

Did Charleston shoot it bad Saturday ? Or, after 6 years under Shulman, did the Mocs finally learn how to defend the 3 ?

5at10er: As a Phillies fan, Joe Carter's walkoff has to be near the top. Then the Mocs missing out on the Elite 8 and the Titans coming up a foot short. Allow me to pose a question to you. Who will be the SECs 14th team? I do not see them being at 13 for long. I like Mizzou (KC & St Louis TV markets). Longshots: Rutgers (lost of TVs in NJ) and Notre Dame. What does your gut tell you and how soon?
