The CPD picks on Adventists just as much as it does anyone else. I have lived in Ooltewah/Collegedale for a little over four years now. I have been pulled over by CPD 3 or 4 times total, none of which resulted in a ticket; as the majority of stops were either unfounded or not ticket worthy. That said, the officers were extremely rude, making threats (the officer was going to his car and said "If your license is suspended, I will make sure there is a warrant out for your arrest), and making demeaning statements. A routine traffic stop is treated almost like a burglary-I got pulled over for a seat belt ticket and there were three of them behind me and one watching from the other side of the street! Let me tell you, its very difficult to have any faith in them when they gang up on citizens for average stops! All this said, you should know that I have no arrest or warrant record, and even my two moving violations are no longer technically on the books.
Romney and Obama both are liars and are both on track to run this once great country into the ground. Each and every day we lose a bit more power as a country, a bit more freedom as an individual, and more and more of your tax dollars, republicans taking them for wars to make their profits, democrats to spend on largely wasteful social programs. As South Park once put it, "every election is between a douche and a turd sandwich." This could not be more true in 2012.
jopeck certainly does not sound prepared to me!
Preparing for the zombie apocalypse-My checklist:
10,000 rounds .223 ammunition
A fully functional garden
A shelter beneath your home
Several water filters (the kind for use in the wilderness, not a brita)
All of your well armed friends
Sounds like a recipe for success to me!
As a registered nurse, I deal with people who are in pain almost every day. We were taught in school that "Pain is what the patient says it is." I cannot feel what they feel, and I cannot truly know the extent of their pain. Pain is unfortunately very subjective-there is no method to definitively say that someone is or is not truly in pain. We certainly have plenty of addicts. We have one more saying, "In the short time the patient is here, I will not be able to cure them of addiction if that is their problem. Also it is unlikely that I will make a person an addict who is not already addicted." Pain treatment will likely always be a tough subject.
There are several countries in the middle east that will literally lop your head off for being homosexual. Oddly enough, the country despised by LGBT, Israel, is essentially a safe haven for homosexuals in the middle east. It is one of the only places in the middle east where they are not persecuted by the government for their sexuality.
From my personal point of view, I think that the Bible seems to suggest that homosexuality is a sin. That said, I don't think its saying homosexuality is really any worse than premarital sex. I don't think anyone is going to hell for being gay. I think that God loves all his children just the same. I have committed sins in my life. I am no better than a homosexual in that regard, so how can I look down upon them?
Also from a government stand on things, the definition of marriage is rooted in religion. Thus for the government to outlaw marriage is to favor a religion, and it ties religion into government. My belief is that this is not at all constitutional. Let homosexuals do what they wish.
Perhaps Bumpkin is a "zombie sympathizer?"
