Mayor Tom Rowland, David May, George Poe, Richard Banks and Avery Johnson are obviously okay with Chief Wes Snyder remaining silent while his officers have sex with children; while his officers ply those children with drugs and alcohol. Thank you TFP for revealing this filth in our local government. Who is going to speak up in Cleveland and demand justice for our children? Who is going to demand that Rowland, May, Poe Banks and Johnson reverse themselves and get an investigation going? Steve Bebb, our AG, is obviously not going to. He is an opportunistic politician who only protects the powerful; not the children.

Shame on you, Tom Rowland. Shame on you David May. Shame on you George Poe. Shame on you Richard Banks. Shame on you Avery Johnson. And shame on me for not being brave enough to speak out at the Council meeting. And while we remain silent, how many more children are victimized? While we remain silent, how much more injustice is perpetrated in our name (the City of Cleveland)?

Bill Estes, what do you say? Dale Hughes, what do you say? Charlie McKensie? Please prove yourselves to be the men I believe you are!

I am disappointed that the city council has chosen to ignore the facts presented by the TFP. At a minimum, an investigation is warranted. How can these men ignore allegations of this administration standing by silently while officers had sex with children? Councilman Poe said that no one has spoken to him about Chief Snyder? That is a true politician! If no one is urging me to do right, I don't need to.

I don't believe there is any doubt that the mother of a little girl made a complaint about this in May 2008. I don't believe that there is any doubt that Wes Snyder had Hicks talk to the officers involved. I don't believe there is any doubt that the law demands that the involved officers and this situation should have been handled differently. I don't believe there is any doubt that Wes Snyder lied in his press conference last month. Is Wes Snyder educated? I guess so. Is Wes Snyder reputable? no.

In Sunday's article, he was quoted as saying that he couldn't remember if he or a now dead Lt investigated his brother-in-law. Are you kidding me? He can't remember if he investigated his wife's brother?! LIAR! I am sickened that this cover-up is now spreading to the city council. This will affect how I vote in the next election.

I will not vote for a councilman who condones the rape of children.

The City council appoints the City Manager, Janice Casteel. Janice Casteel is Chief Snyder's boss. Who can demand a proper investigation? City Councilmen Charlie McKensie, Bill Estes, Avery Johnson, David May Jr, Dale Hughes, George Poe Jr, and Richard Banks. Janice Casteel won't do it because she doesn't (and won't) answer to the people of Cleveland. Call the Councilmen and demand an investigation. I cannot believe that Bill Estes and Dale Hughes will let this be swept under the rug. Estes works with young people at Lee University and Hughes was the principal at Bradley County HS for years.

It seems to me that like, Chief Snyder, kulgolfer is trying to obsfucate the central issue with nit-picking facts. The basic fact is that these officers were having sex with children and the Chief Snyder covered for them until it was impossible to cover any more. I am alarmed that Noble was allowed near a school and more alarmed that complaints against him were ignored and downplayed by both the CPD and especially by the school superintendent Rick Denning! What decent person could not be horrified? kulgolfer, I find that the facts reported by the TFP have been accurate and plain. These facts tell a story that is both chilling and disappointing. The children of Cleveland TN have been placed in the care of immoral men and the protectors look the other way as they are victimized. Are you so callous that this does not break your heart?

Snyder needs to resign and criminal charges need to be brought on him and city manager Janice Casteel for covering everything up.

Looks like Hicks is realizing he implicated himself in his testimony. I'd say he and Snyder are part of the Good Ole Boy crew. And I think Snyder is using him as a puppet now to cover both of their butts
