I hope the coalition will do everything possible to install photovoltaic electric power generation arrays in tandem with the chargers like Northshore 2 at Greenlife grocery has. That way we can prevent a lot more pollution from large centralized electricity power plants as well as cut our use of foreign oil for transportation - and reduce our transportation dollar costs.
Spokespersons for nuclear always declare that nuclear power is "safe," in totally broad, reassuring tones. Put the public's mind at ease; induce them to believe nuclear reactors pose no dangers. The fact that these kinds of drills are required puts all that reassurance to a lie. The truth is nuclear reactors are extremely dangerous. It would be sheer foolishness to think that an accident as severe as the one at Fukushima, Japan, could not possibly happen in the Tennessee Valley. Nuclear reactors are DANGEROUS! And, it costs all of us who buy nuclear generated electricity a lot of money to pay for all the work necessary just to reduce the chances of a nuclear disaster actually happening.
The evidence continues to mount up that TVA is not able to competently protect the people of the Valley from the potential catastrophic radioactive disasters that can happen at a nuclear power plant. We are not safe from the same type of "reasoning" and management decisions that gave us the Kingston coal ash disaster. When an equivalent mismanagement decision is made at one of its atomic power plants, it would likely be HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of lives devastated, permanent evacuation from our homes, towns and cities such as caused by the Fukushima Dai-ichi atomic plant catastrophe. We are not safe from such with "nuclear power" operated by TVA.
Recently returned from traveling in seven western European countries and found that the easily accessed, centrally located tourist information centers there were exactly what we needed to choose what we wanted to visit and help us find our way to our choices.
I find it ASTOUNDING that TVA has a "50-member public relations staff." I want to believe we are not paying that many people just to craft the messages we get from TVA. If we are, why? Can that many people be necessary to manage TVA's messages to the public?
