It's the EAC that Ms. Crutchfield runs. The AEC is a well run non-profit (not government) that has provided arts programming for over thirty years.

I agree with your decision. Nasty, hateful comments left anonymously discredit the story. I would prefer however, that you allow comments tied to a Facebook account so that the individual has to take responsibility for their opinions.

People have enough time to email Coca Cola and complain about the color of cans? maybe we aren't in a recession? how about worrying about things that actually matter! Geez!

When children see how adults value education, then they learn that education is not valuable. We build beautiful buildings for politicians, tourists, VW...but we place our children in 30 year old double wides that leak and rainy, dingy classrooms...shame on us!

So glad there are no Irish, Italian, German, Slavic or African immigrant descendants commenting on here! America was so happy to receive them on our shores and treated them justly! Now, if we could finally get rid of the rest of those pesky Native Americans, we would be doing just fine! (well, except for the lack of those fun casinos!)

Wow! Still making headlines! Signal Mountain Eagles will be just fine no matter how the appeal turns out! Don't bet on TSSAA changing their ruling even if they delayed; they don't want to have to actually investigate all of the 'ineligibles' in the State of TN because then no one would be going to playoffs. Signal Mountain is a strong team with good kids, great coaches and a community that supports them! Go Eagles!

I guess that it isn't 'cut and dry' and maybe all the TFP spectators don't have all the information. Imagine? Not having all the information after reading a TFP article? Just because you don't like Signal Mountain doesn't mean that they are automatically guilty. If they have an opportunity to appeal this ruling, I hope that they do for the team's sake. Any other school would do the same thing!

HCDE 'zoned' Tim McClendon to SMMHS with a hardship approval; therefore, SMMHS thought he was eligible to play. SMMHS coaches wouldn't have compromised the program on such an easy check. Trust me, if someone on Signal Mountain wanted Tim that badly, he would have been living on Signal Mountain, no matter the cost! Shame on TFP for not reporting ALL the facts to make it look like SMMHS are "cheaters". Guess it sells more papers to people like memphisexile who simply HATE Signal Mountain. The tragedy of this is that the teenage players will bear the brunt of this ruling. So glad that so many of you feel vindicated by this ruling and can go back to your pristine sports programs at your school.... oh, wait, let's not start checking players at other Hamilton County schools... may not end up with anyone eligible to go to playoffs!

Wow Memphisguy! Way to stick it to a bunch of high school students! Such a great attitude! I am sure the administration, teachers, students, players, parents and athletic supporters at SMMHS are glad that you WILL NOT send your kids there, since each and every one of them did something to offend you!
