I'll never forget reading about Rick Santorum's favorite president - Abraham Lincoln. I wrote him to challenge him that if he were president today, Santorum (and many GOPers like him) would never vote for the man. He never replied, and, when I crossed him in the hallways of Congress about 7-8 years ago, I approached him with the same concern, and he replied with a hackneyed answer. Later that year, he removed the "my favorite president" portion from his website. Maybe he read more about Lincoln.
