So glad these guys are back safely with their families. Thank you to all who were out there looking for them. I believe the families truly needed your support. So many of us were praying for their safe return. Kudos to the kayakers for knowing what to do under such conditions and doing it!!
Some of you commentors sadden me. We "should" all be for the kids. Let's be good role models. What do we want these young men to glean from these comments? I hope for the very best for Tim and all his teammates. And for the haters out there - think about this--who will be taking care of you in your old age? I'll tell you. It's the kids from this generation! So be good role models! Teach them well. WWJD! Don't spout off online and then sing in the choir on Sunday. Just sayin.
Tim, there are so many of us whom you have never met who are cheering you on. This is a life lesson, and as my mother often says, it is a brick in the foundation that builds the man. Whatever the decision on your eligibility and your teams wins/loses, take your coach's advice. Hold your head up. Be proud. Keep in school. Go to college. With your mother's support, and your mentor, remember "With God, all things are possible." I do not have kids at SMMHS, but I do have 2 sons. We are all supporting you and your teammates. Football can be a path to great things, but just remember that it's not the only path. Find that inner strength that helped you do such great athletic feats, and is also helping you read aloud in English class. They are not so different after all. Best of luck to you in your future. I'll be watching!
