Our ancestors died defending our homeland from invasion by the federal government, we have a right to celebrate their sacrifice. The unlimited power that the government now possesses is directly due to the outcome of the War of Northern Aggression. The feds now tell you what kind of light bulb you can burn, what food you can eat, what kind of gun and ammunition you can own, and it will never end until every move you make is governed by the federal government. Alabama is not New York or California (thank God!) and should not be governed by the same laws.
Dollywood's response was appropriate. Here's why the shirt is offensive: I don't expect to go to an amusement park and expect to see political/social issues put on display. Show some class, if you have any. I have a t-shirt with Johnny Cash giving the finger, but I don't wear it to my kids' school play. Just because I have free speech doesn't mean I should use it all the time. Show some restraint. That shirt was as inappropriate as a shirt calling for the ban of gay marriage. I don't really want to see either shirt at Dollywood or Wal-Mart.
One more thing, look at the picture. We already know they are gay, thanks! No t-shirt needed. Utilize your privacy rights. I don't have "Redneck" on the windshield of my 4x4. Cancel the report from the Department of Redundancy Department.
