Ms. Kearns, we shouldn't forget that when President Bush took office, for the first time in history the US was hit. There is no other president that had this happen while taking office. And we have not had it happen again. But if we remember, this happened because Clinton didn't do what he should have! He had eight years to try and stop this, and he did nothing. Of course we will read that this isn't true, but we all know that things don't just happen over night! It takes years of doing nothing or turning your head away from the facts!
As for Obama, well I think I have listened to what my parents had to say and I think what we are seeing is another great depression, something that has happened before. So at least he has some history to go by when trying not to make mistakes.
Bush had NONE to look back at.
We will have to wait and see what Obama does, I mean everything that he first promised is now in the trash can, so what does he have up his sleeves now! We will be watching!

I am shocked. I was reading the paper this morning and after reading this article I see an article that was speaking about how to keep your cell phones from freezing?? What is wrong with us??? What about how to keep your poor, innocent dogs, cats and other creatures from freezing to death? These are living, breathing creatures who are at our mercy and we worry about our metal phones from freezing?
I cannot not understand how people can chain a poor dog out in some of the worst conditions and expect them to survive, or maybe it is that they don't care if they survive or not.
Next time, maybe it would be good for the paper to educate people about the conditions that dogs and cats have to live in and worry more about getting the info out about taking your creatures in the house so that they don't freeze to DEATH. At least your phone won't die or suffer from freezing!
If it is hard for workers to work in these conditions, just think about how painful it is for any dog or cat to have to live in these conditions day and night!
