No Jesse I think Libertarianism would be much much worse.
A simple review of American history, from oh, say 1850-1930. It is an excellent illustration of a libertarian or proto-libertarian society. The emphasis was on the glorification of wealth, unbridled capitalism, no-regulations and pure laissez-faire economics. The result was the creation of robber barons, monopolistic cartels, extortionate pricing, abominable work conditions, and poverty on a massive scale.
And I'm only scratching the surface.
Hmm Zableedofisterix, Your statement: ”If Ted Cruz runs for POTUS, he has my vote” certainly indicates, if not condoning, then tolerating one of two parties that are completely corrupt and dishonest.
Isn’t the last paragraph of your 6:46 post a tad conflicted? Or are you condoning ”the slavish devotion to two parties that are completely corrupt and dishonest”?
True enough, Democrats are whores, but the Republicans are NOT whores lite. They equally whorishly corrupt.
How sad that in the 21st century there are so many that rebuke science, empirical evidence and its quest for answers in favor of writings of Bronze Age men that have answers no one may question.
Mmm say Ikeithlu,
The never ending claim evolution has been proven false (it’s only a theory isn’t it) is as Hotdiggity said - redundant . Let’s try to divide evolution into two parts; how about Macro and Micro? Micro evolution is a fact, whereas Macro evolution remains a theory due to debates on the exact steps of the process. Evolution did, is churning away now, and IS happening. This is fact and therefor Micro. In Macro, we simply can’t trace the exact evolutionary steps of the 3 trillion plus species of ‘things’ on earth, or, 1/10,000th of 1% of the cosmos. Considering there is no way to prove we have even located 50% (at best) of the species on earth, this may always remain Macro theory. However, it has been proved, beyond a shadow of a doubt that humans have evolved (Micro). The species Homo lineage has been verifiably traced back conclusively for 3 or so million years.
Granted, evolution was a risky theory for Darwin and his adherents, but even it evolved into a fact a long time ago; to the extent that even the Catholic Church recognizes evolution. Religions love to twist evolutionary theory excessively. A favorite is they like to say evolution preaches that Humans evolved from monkeys. Evolution does not state- nor did it ever (as so many theists would claim) that humans evolved from monkeys. Science states that monkeys and humans evolved from a shared ancestor and are hence relatives only, (all primates are) but we are in no way direct descendants of them.
Some God did not point ahead and say ‘Make it so’. Keeping that in mind, fundamentalists could do well by pressing the ‘F1’ key repeatedly. It is after all – the help key.
Fairmon wisely said...
”The U.S. has no obligation to police the world and doing nothing is ok if the U.S. is not threatened”.
”The behavior of people supports the theory of evolution.”
While this may be in a general sense true; the 'actions' of people would seem to support that of dogma’s manipulation.
The escalation of the Redskins team name controversy is not because of a shift in public opinion where the term has grown to offend more people. This isn’t a case of new found standards of decency. It is wholly manufactured; born by a select people, exercising a political correctness to further a self centered cultural piousness'.
Oh my, who's horribly offended? I posit it mainly seems to bother activists who are offended for a living and for whom it is a source of moral righteousness to be offended on someone else’s behalf (even if no one else is).
Dragging everyone along their journey of political correctness is a trip they ought to travel alone as the vast majority don't give a sh!t -- and that includes Indians.
Whoops, did I just say..Indians? My bad!

The Conflicts & Contradictions of the Snake Handlers
You crawl so preciously,
Around my ankle, so professionally.
I feel you sliver, so creepily, continuing to wrap around, so sneakily.
Bite me once, I may complain
Break my flesh, I feel the pain
Watch my blood; I watch in vain.
Slide up high, past my thigh-
I let you enter because I am weak to your touch.
I use you like you use me; you’re my crutch.
Make me feel good everywhere.
Make me feel special; make me believe that you care.
Whether I asked for it or not
We’re just another eve to your plot
You have sucked us dry, made us feel dirty; unworthy
DEVIL, ever you cross our paths, yet still we long to handle you.
