This comment only added salt to a wound in my opinion....Maybe you should think of "Thanking God for your Blessings and good fortune in your case of your ATV excursions.... This child did not die because he was not wearing a helmet ( although I do consider wearing a helmet a benefit), He had no head or facial or head injuries; a precious life was taken. He was on a side "dirt" road no more than a drive way and when he looked up to stop he couldn't and slid onto a traveled road. This child actually died from blood loss to his brain. With his mother holding him in the road it was althogether a horrible site because nothing could have saved him.... I am a close family friend and I hope to GOD that none of his close family members read this blog that you posted. How could you even add salt to a wound by suggesting that a parent caused this child's death... I as a close family realtion was totally devastated by the comments. I strongly suggest that Chattanoga Times/Free press reveiw comments before posted. I am personally aquainted with this incident and all of the surroundings ... There was nothing that would have prevented this horrible accident. This child bled out and died within five minutes of impact.: and I ask you what can plastic do for an impact of this proportion; or you may even consider it an act of GOd.. As it was time to call Talon home.... He is in a much better place than we are. As parents; They are already thinking: as is human nature "What could I have done to prevent this". EMT's on the scene say that protective gear would not have saved this child's life....It is a very sad thing for the whole community..... THINK and BE THANKFUL BEFORE YOU BLOG..THIS FAMILY LOVED AND CHERISHED THERE CHILD EVERY BIT AS MUCH AS YOU DO.
I WAS VERY OFFENED BY THE JUDGEMENTAL ATTITUDE OF THIS BLOG.....SO GO AHEAD AND PAT YOUR SELF ON THE BACK FOR YOUR PROCTECTIVENESS OF YOUR CHILDREN...IN THE END...WE ALL NEVER KNOW....I WOULD HAVE MUCH RATHER HAD SOMEONE SHOW SOME GENUINE COMPASSION TO A YOUNG FAMILY LOSING A PRECIOUS YOUNG AND BEAUTIFUL LIFE...THAN A CONDEMING AND UNSENSITIVE..HOLIER THAN THOU ONLOOKER.
I will be more than happy for you to argue your opionion...My email is momataters@aol.com. Feel free to email me anytime. happen.
I have worked in the motorcycling industry for the last four years. I know that sometimes there is nothing you can do to prevent injury.
Very Distraught and Very Dissappointed in the Chattanooga Times Free Press for not even reviewing comments posted.
