To bad the tigers cant take the field this fall, there are plenty of kids here who deserve the chance to experience what it is like to be part of a team, part of a family, part of anything. We wont get to see those smiles when they make a play or make a tackle on the field. What a shame that the Commissioner and Gov. Haslam have never been to a game to see just how much it means to these kids. I am and will always a tiger fan and will never forget being able to take part in something that even I as a youth didnt get to do. My high school didnt have a football program and being able to be involved in Taft football gave me the opportunity to do something I always wanted to do, be part of a team. Thanks to Coach Worthington, Coach Smith, and the Admistrators that gave me the chance to be apart of something so special. THey fired one and the other is still around for now, but they made it possible for me to be part of a team. Something i will never forget. Thanks! No Thanks to Haslam and O'Day! GO TIGERS!

Gonna be real hard to puch a R for anyone come election time! Haslam may think we are just a bunch of dumb mtn folks but we still have the right to vote. By the time he is done this state will be in shambles. But the state voted for him so that is what we gotta deal with till we can vote him out. I voted for WAMP in the primary, but i didnt vote R in the main election. No sir i Voted D and will again and again. Good ole TAFT i hate to see her go, unappreciated and forgotten about. I once said that Haslam would be a good water boy for the TAFT TIGERS but now im not sure that he should even do that, total disreguard for saftey of the people of this state, he should work for TDOT running a shovel for 8 bucks a hour and give the state all his millions cause we gonna be broke by the time he is done! The poor always been screwed over by the rich, always have, always will.

Nice to hear Da'Rick back on the field. He needs to wake up an realize that he is playing for wide reciever University, known for getting recievers to Da pros. Attitude counts for alot and players like him, Bray, and Hunter can make or break the attitude on and off the field. Look back at the loss to UK, Bray playing with disintrest and the ohter young guys on the field picked up on it. What they do has a tremendous effect on the squad. I cant wait to see that 3-4 on the field, J. Smith, Im gonna be lookin for u to show out, it is ur time. UT can rest assured that Maggitt and Johnson will flourish. I really want to see Smith use his size and ability, it should be really fun to watch him smear a Florida QB and hopefully knock that losing streak aganist the gators in the head. Until kick off, I will be reading every article in Big Orange Country to keeps eyes on my VOLS. Make the General proud this year Boys, he deserves it.

I HAVE BEEN SERVED! Thanks to the Dept. O'Day Childrens Services the stress level has just increased. Not that they care, just another step toward gettin them Republican pockets fatter. I vote either way by the way, but it will be alot harder to punch a R from here on out. HASLAM is in the process of makin history herin the state of Tennessee, but I am afraid it not the history he wanting to be know for. I am guessin that the Politicians vote for party lines in April, so we should start planning Taft funeral now.

I got a good idea LaughingBoy, why dont u go to Woodland Hills or the like and just take off with that great idea that u have. Sounds like u have the problem all figured out lol. The staff at the other places arent interested in helping rehabilitate the boys cause the admistrators dont give them the proper tools to work with like we have here a Taft. There is no support from within which is pretty much like working construction wit a bunch or wood carving tools if u will. Get my drift. They are just there doing what they can to stay safe and keep the boys safe because they are not backed or driven by thier adminstration. Unless u have done or currently do this type of work u should prob find another article to post your brillant ideas on, leave all the big thinking to Haslam And CCA. Thier plan is worse than urs! ACERIGGER u aint the only one who sees the writting on the wall, i bet CCA is behind it 100%. They can get the 12 million that Taft would be getting and really by a fancy suit with that type of kick back every year. This is a really good artcle and my appreciation goes out to Cook for researching Taft and telling the facts. We are the best in the state ant one of the best in the nation, so open or closed taft will always be a positve piece of Tennessee history. Yea they been some rough times at Taft but when u deal with the worst u gonna get the worst. Taft has been able to maintain that for 90 years, can any one else say they same? Closing Taft is a shame, after all it has done for the State it gets shut down and all the good it has done will be filed away in some cabniet in Nashville, home of the money grubbin beaucrat.

CHURCH! Tell it all and dont hold nothing back ther real deAL. They wont listen to anything because changing thier mindwould takethier pocket. Haslam and the ACA are a gang just like the Taft boys only they wear big money suits and use big titles and party votes to get rich it is still robbery without the gun. They just found a way to rob Tennessee civilians and make them feel good about it! Gone is the respect for Republican Bill Haslam that i never really had anyway. I mean U got a 90 year old facility that does a better job than any other facility in the state, or nation for that matter and u want o shut it down? Why do u ask? Only one reason i can think of. Cut the beast off at the head and the body dies, then they will say that keepin the youth costs to much and they will contract those youth out to Haslam ole buddy ACA, wash thier hands of the juvenile problem and get a big kick back come budget time when they shell out money to the private sector. I might be from the country, COUNTRY DUMB as Ray Charles put it, but I got u figured out Mr. Haslam, u sly devil, u dont even deserve to wear that Tennessee Orange because u have no idea what it means to be a volunteer. Everybody thought the Alamo was a lost cause to lol!

Way to join in ther iarnofool! RealDeal is right the oldtimers need to chip in too.. The stories that have comr from a greater time in Taft history. I would love to see W.H.Y.D.C put up wit some of the boys that iarnofool and those old hands used to handle arounf Taft, they wouldnt be a case to close Taft if those type where still around. Oh Yea RealDeal i prob wasnt even alive when ole James Earl Ray went over the wall, but i am pretty sure that the TAFT K-9 tracked him right quick like. Might as well face it Gov. these ole hillbillies know what they are doing and they just keep passing it down through the years to us young bucks, that is why this is the best, has been the best, and will always be the best even if she is gone. Best thing to do is leave her alone and let her do what she has done for nearly 100 years, TAKE CARE OF EVERYONE ELSE PROBLEMS!

Kudos to Mr. Cook for interviewing Drew. No one can tell the Taft story better than the boys who have benefitted from her services. Taft is the mother of them all, her arms in constant reach for troubled teen boys who need a change of enviroment. She has contributed to the state in everyway possible be it search and rescue, helping clean up the communities after a tornado, taking the headache away from other facilities, even helped the Miller/Martinez admin shut down the group homes in the state. Mr. Dawson should remember all the things that Taft has done, he has been the beneficiary most everytime. Taking the worst boys in the state is what Taft does. We are just like the other facilities only we arent, we are Taft, we have mace, all of us, not just some like Kate implied, all. The boys that have been eksewhere dont want to go back, the boys who went else where want to come back. Interviewing these boys is the only way to tell the real story, CALL MORE OF EM.
As for sending Haslam to Taft, LOL, there is a place there for him to, the football team is always in need of a good manager. LOL dont worry folks it aint hard to make sure the water bottles make out to the field, surely he can handle that. He would prob switch to cups to try to save money! IF IT AINT BROKE, DONT FIX IT.
