Beware of anyone who proclaims themselves a "Patriot." In 2013, that's code for Teabagger. They think they love America more than everybody. But actions speak louder than words. Most are angry, uneducated, white folk. Pathetic, really. Especially considering they are being led by a Canadian elitist.

There was a day when being Conservative meant you advocated for personal responsibility. Not any more. Freedom to the Teabaggers means being free to be a free-rider or freeloader in America.

You see, the idea of the individual mandate actually originated at the Heritage Foundation. Similar to auto insurance, the idea was that Americans need to have insurance because of the unique nature of the health market. If you are uninsured and get in a bad car wreck, and end up at the ER, unless you are fabulously wealthy, Americans like me are going to end up paying for your healthcare. That's wrong. That's welfare. But to a Teabagger, it's freedom.

Volsam, if you are so worried about future generations, then you should be for smaller government AND tax increases, to clean up the mess our generation has made. To whine about the poor little children, and support tax cuts at the same time is the acme of foolishness & hypocrisy. My opinion.

Volsam, the Senate passed a budget in 2013. Wake up! Your tea is ready.

Soakya, I don't give the Senate a pass for not doing a budget prior to 2013. I do however call BS on the House for doing nothing but obstructing the proicess so they could reach their perceived leverage point (ie: dead end / box canyon).

I also call BS on your comment about the "president" having his credit rating lowered. Anyone who was paying attention understands why that happened. The credit rating agencies and the Fed explained it all too clearly. Brinkmanship related to the budget & debt ceiling by the CONGRESS caused that. And more specifically, the GOP Congress. The Teabaggers wanted the shutdown, and many want a default. Guess what? They own it now!!

PlainTruth wouldn't know the real truth if it bit him in the posterior. He started posting in this thread saying; "Years from now, people will be asking "Where were you when Harry Reid shutdown the government?"

Lets examine that statement a bit. After the GOP led House demanded that the Senate pass a budget, the Senate did exactly that. Over 6 months ago. A conference was required to reconcile the House & Senate budgets. But guess what? The GOP repeatedly objected to a conference until ONE HOUR BEFORE THE SHUTDOWN. That's because a conference would have nullified their strategy of hostage taking & ransom.

So now they want a conference, even though the Senate budget maintains the cuts put into effect by the sequester. Why does the GOP want a conference? S0 they can 'negotiate' policy riders atop a continuing resolution budget bill. Ain't gonna happen.

Senator Reid is correct. The Banana Republicans have lost their minds. The House has ZERO leverage, and Senator Corker tried repeatedly to point that out to The Canadian, to no avail. This shutdown rests solidly on the shoulders of John Boehner and his lunatic fringe Tea Party caucus.

rick1 seems to forget that the Lincoln Memorial was recently vandalized while the government was OPEN. The Interior Dept., which manages the NPS is CLOSED because of the ongoing shenanigans in the House. What part of government shutdown don't you understand? Ted Cruz Canadian-logic is flawed. Yeah, lets open up the parts of government that we like. NOT!

By the way, my Father-in-Law is part of the Greatest Generation and was a WW2 pilot. He's on his way to DC now. He understands who is responsible for this mess, just like the majority of Americans. These Teabaggers have no shame.

Clay is spot on as usual. You can tell by the reaction from the Teabaggers that it hit home. The truth hurts.

Amazing that the Teabaggers & Birthers are threatening the full faith & credit of America, and they're being led in their assault by a Canadian. Will wonders never cease?

The reason we have definitions is so that we can differentiate between things. If 'rural' is a catch all that includes places like Whitwell, Pikeville, & Kennesaw, then it is a useless definition. Any child who has watched Sesame Street knows that "one of these things is not like the other." Not trying to convince this Easy123 character of anything, b/c facts contrary to his/her beliefs only seem to embolden him/her.

Just looked at the definition of suburb in Wikipedia, and it specifically mentions areas around Atlanta as suburban. Imagine that. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suburb
