Don't see why we had to say, "Students who are black," though. Im white and it sounds offensive, maybe it's just me. Seriously though, only whites are from "low-income backgrounds"? Blacks-oh don't even get me started ya know?! Thats just a race of people with no classification when it comes to America's social hierarchy. Psh......please, Mrs.Sher needs a new editor.
As far as Tennessee cutting scholarships, I think it was the right thing to do, maybe they can use that money to provide for the K-12 students who get some of the lowest State funding in America. Maybe then I can stop seeing all these high school pregnancies, and kids graduating without even being challenged. Maybe then more and more will go to college and we can all start seeing more business' growing and the crime rate go down. I see more poor white red necks making nothing out of their lives than any other race of people.
