I thought Ki-Jana Carter was going to be the best ever. Think it was an injury that cut his career short before it ever really began. Think he was a No. 1 overall too.

Also, back before the Vols b-ball program began it's late 90's uptick, I loved watching Ron Mercer. Thought dude was good enough to be one of the best players in the league for years to come. Ended up a journeyman.

Blackburn to UTC is a win on many levels. Have a hunch this wont be his only AD gig. Very important first few weeks here. Weeds' story was spot-on... But I expect nothing less than excellent from Weeds.

Baseball is not a sprint. We all know this. Braves are gonna have many peaks and many valleys. We all know this, too.

Didn't go to Knoxville, but I loved Butch's tweet shortly after the game finished. "@UTCoachJones: Some places can't get 60,000+ to a game or seat 60,000 in their stadium! #BrickbyBrick #VolbyVol We will #RiseToTheTop!

VOLUNTEERSTATE"

Any doubt that was directed at the coach 180 miles to his west?

Bo don't know Rushmore's.

I'll say Sanders... Deion, Barry, Colonel, & gold medal Olympian swimmer Summer.

Rather Keith Jackson is CFB Royalty... Phil's royalty too tho. Just a different Rushmore.

Scully is tops. Matter of fact, I move we call it the Vin Scully Rushmore of fantastic TV play-by-play guys...

Pete/Skip share a spot for me. They were the voice of my childhood. Sean McDonough called two of the greatest plays of my life... Bream's slide and Stoerner's stumble (and fumble). Phil Jackson is CFB royalty. And Costas' voice signals "big event" to me. He makes a July game feel like October. (I don't care for his commentary on SNF, tho)

Braves are notorious for slow starts & struggles vs. bad teams. This start has shattered both perceptions. It's all gravy, man. Loving it.

Just re-read the contest rules... Take Tiger out & replace him with Bubba for me.

Great sports year for Atlanta, but I'll give the title of best recent run to Louisville based on the tiebreaker that was keeping Charlie Strong from bolting to the SEC.

Apologies if this was already covered here (been a busy month at OG Enterprises), but congrats to Selena Roberts for getting eyes on her site based on a story that has proved less than factual.

I'll take Tiger, Rory, Stricker, Phil, & Mahan.

Congrats to SportTalk and condolences to all the 102.3 guys on Wally's passing. Sad day.

If Vols have this same result (record & no dance) WITH Maymon, Conz is on the hotseat. The team actually overachieved a bit in my mind. That's probably because the SEC is a bad conference, which is why I'm fine with the Vols not getting in. I knew when they lost to Georgia after playing lights out for 2 weeks that this team's only consistency was inconsistency. And a 10 point loss to a similarly talented Alabama was just the final dagger.

Same result next year, with Maymon & (hopefully) Stokes are back, and the seat temp goes nuclear.

I expect a quick out in the NIT. Maybe they surprise me and get up for the kiss your sister tourney, but I can't see any motivation at this point.

First No. 1 out - Indiana, longest double digit seed in - the screamin' Marshalls (Ole Miss).

Your 1's are nearly impossible to argue with. I think Frasier's a 2 and I've never seen an episode of Arrested Development or Modern Family. Andy Griffith & Everybody Loves Raymond replaces those two for me.

Simpsons vs. Seinfeld & Raymond vs. Frasier in my final 4 faves. Office beat at the buzzer by Simpsons in previous round. Seinfeld wins it all.

Great response to JMC. Hard to argue for Shulman at this point... Which I hate because he's just good people.

A win over Bama today coupled with football off-field success and spring practice getting underway would equal Vols best weekend since Pearl got us into the Elite 8. Seriously. Not equivalent to, but best since, IMO.

Falcons Mike Smith has to be under the gun now, right? No more excuses for early exits at least for next 2 years.

The Bills still play football? Who knew?

Not to upset the diehard CBB fans around here... This is by far the best time of the year for B-Ball. Love the opening tournaments around Thanksgiving time and Conference tourneys & The Dance. All that fluff in the middle gets old. Exact opposite of CFB.

Is this the last Big East tourney? More importantly, will the new Catholic 7 tourney be televised or will we watch a chimney to find out who wins?

My 9 year old is in first year of kid pitch. He struck out looking in bottom of final inning for out two of a one run loss against Ringgold Rec's version of Mo Rivera Sunday. I took it harder than he did.
