A very happy birthday to Ted...you may have forgotten he was also the captain of an America's Cup winner and was literally hammered at the post conclusion press conference...He was also the force behind WCW which for over a year dominated the cable television ratings...it is not hard to say that when Capt Outrageous was no longer the owner of the Bravos they sank into mediocrity much as CNN has which is now just a blip in the ratings...I personally will never forget sharing a beer with Ted at Engle Stadium many years ago when he was here checking out the old ballpark to host the SL all star game which in those days meant playing against a Braves B squad...

They might be dead, but still better than anyone going right now Shulman is good don't get me wrong, but these guys today think they are the damn star of the game, although Joe Buck is not nearly as self absorbed as most...Leaving the mighty Jim Reynolds out of the equation, the best local play by play is hands down Chris Goforth, who realistically be on a larger stage than he is...

Let us remember Veteran's Day is for those who have served...All of us who signed up wrote a blank check to our government, today is for ALL who served in the military not just those who lost their lives in service (that is what Memorial Day is for, and Armed Forces Day is for those currently serviing)...I served from 76-80 and it will always be (other than my children) what I am proudest of in my life, even though I have fortunate to be involved in some big sporting events...when it comes to military movies if it doesn't have John Wayne in it how good can it possibly be? LOL...Rushmore for me will be "In Harm's Way", "Platoon", "The Green Berets", and "The Longest Day"...if you notice three of those did have John Wayn

Let me think...did Mercer not knock the beloved clorox orange out of the NIT a couple of years ago, and did they not oust the Dukies from the NCAA last year or am I wrong...
