To compare the SoCon now to what it use to be I can't fathom when UT, Bama, and Ga left it was to form the SEC, then Virginia, Maryland, etc left to for the ACC big difference between then and now just sayin...huge huge difference...JG great response yesterday and today...Let Blackburn raise the money then get the heck out...what used to be the FCS equivalent of the SEC has been buried...hang out in the conference formerly known as the SoCon three to five years, then BOLT...the one thing we have to remember, is with the BCS instituting a "playoff" then entire landscape of college football WILL change...those currently in FBS will be filling more of the lesser bowl slots (Sun Belt currently has two guaranteed spots) the lower level FCS teams will end up dropping to non scholarship football and the capable ones will move up to have a shot at bowl games...also we must remember the Big 10 has already instituted the non FCS game policy, it will not be long before the SEC does also...those $450K games will be gone, so step up and get the $MILLION guarantee instead from Bama, FSU, etc...will take 3-5 years but I am ok with that

2014 I do believe laughing...but I keep waiting for someone other than myself to just come out and speak the truth...adding VMI, ETSU, and Mercer do NOTHING to help the conference...you have one HORRIBLE athletic program already (VMI) with no chance of being competitive in the major sports...Mercer and ETSU are just STARTING football, can you say SMU with them? It will take a decade for either to be a factor, and ETSU is not the old ETSU in basketball which the casual Chattanooga fan just can't comprehend...Mercer is good but not great in basketball,so the SoCon takes a huge gut shot and will NEVER recover...I just hate being the lone voice saying the SoCon is DONE REPEAT DONE

No mention this am of another gut shot taken by the SoCon? I stand by my opinion that adding ETSU and Mercer which are just starting football, and a very pathetic VMI, has Kavorkianed the conference. JG I can't believe two days in a row I have to somewhat agree with you...the UNDERPERFORMERS list is really good...although I would have to put Dale Jr at the top of the heap over Chokio...Junior has never lived up to the hype...of course part of that is applicable to the Wallflowers...how often do the offspring truly match what the parent accomplished...Dylan and Dale? The only one that comes to mind is Hank Jr has far exceeded what his father did and Hank Sr even with such a short career is still regarded by most as the KING of country music...Eddie Murphy is quite frankly a joke! He career died when he did "The Nutty Professor", you do not and I REPEAT do not remake the classic Jerry Lewis movie...I do know how the second fiddles feel, I run second banana in my field in many instances, however I still have the passion to do the best I can, maybe thats why my phone rings?

The SoCon is on LIFE SUPPORT and needs to be put out of its misery...the exit of Davidson was a shot to the head...for the mid majors has strong as football can be...basketball is the life blood for tv money, etc...and with Davidson now gone the conference will be lucky to to survive...the RPI will now be at the bottom of the list...VMI, ETSU, and Mercer can't possibly replace what has been lost...I suspect Blackburn is already exploring all options, but if Chattanooga can't be the big dog then get out...Immarino is to quote Col Nathan Jessup is "messing with the wrong marine"...the conference can't survive by adding two football teams that do not truly exist yet, but the death blow from adding the basketball programs is even more sad
