I remember growing up in the 50s and driving down 3rd street and looking down Central to the entrance to the Park and wondering what was inside. But of course being white we had to drive down the street to Warner Park, which at that time was an amusement park with rides. There was also a , "colored,"(word used at that time) golf course off of Third Street since they weren't allowed to play at Brainerd.
