Great news...but didn't they also just win a car from the 100 Toyotas in 100 Days? That was pretty significant, too...
This in not a rumor in Hamilton County it is a horrible fact. We got our letter today from SETHRA telling us to "make other arrangements" for transporation, that it is discontinued. My son's transporation to work training and job...gone. If we had "other arrangements" would we not have used them. Who's brilliant idea was it to cut this? I would think there are cuts where people DO have other alternatives, don't think many of the people that depend on SETHRA do, or they would use them. Don't know what we do now? Drop out of program, sit on couch, pay no taxes.
I came to the web site hoping to see additional photos of this home, but actually there were fewer than in my print edition. There were no links in the article to Stray Dog Designs (www.straydogdesigns.com). C'mon guys, I know you are trying to boost your web usage, but why should I go on the TFP site if it is 'less' than what I find in my printed version? It was a good story, would like to have seen more.
Please go and tour the Job Corps center in Gadsden, AL as a model for vocational school. Talk to our son who will graduate from there next month with a high school diploma and training in Culinary Arts. He will be able now to get a job that pays higher than minimum wage.
I can't say enough good things about Job Corps...it is one federally funded vocational program that really works. It would be a terrific model to base a vocational school on for Chattanooga. If you are not college bound, not mechanically minded, there are few resources here.
Unless she likes to dine on commemorative Elvis plates, toothwhitening kits, and candy, I can't see how she saves any $40 in true "groceries" from coupons clipped.
Other cities carry real food coupons, the vast majority of items in the TFP coupon section on Sunday are non-food, no nutritional value items. I just pitch 'em.
